Elementary, Middle Grade, and High school
I love to read science fiction, so I was excited to see this recommended list of science fiction titles for kids. Especially interesting is the elementary school list! I was once told that elementary kids won’t understand science fiction. This list proves that opinion wrong!
Here are the 2026 Excellence in Children’s and Young Adults Science Fiction Notable Lists from the CORE/American Library Association. The lists are composed of notable children’s and young adult science fiction published between November 2024 and March 2026 and organized into three age-appropriate categories.
